That says "Welcome to Colorado" - picture circa 4am

So, yea, this is my last entry, at least for the drive out.  I’m thinking I’ll probably take some photos of Denver and the apartment, etc.  I actually already have some from tailgating at the Broncos game from the morning I arrived after the 14 hour drive.  I’ll get on that soon.  But, anyhow, here’s a bit about my last day (and night and next morning, I guess; the timing of the last part confuses me.  I can’t remember when I slept and when I was awake, etc.).

Anyhow, I got up on the morning of Day 7 and headed into St. Louis.  I had been given a recommendation by one of Erynn’s friends to check out this place called the City Museum.  I was expecting to find a pretty cool museum, maybe with modern art and whatnot.  Little did I know.  This place was the coolest place ever, and I’m not even going to begin to be able to fully explain it, nor do I think the photos will do it justice.  But, if you can, picture a huge, old industrial building completely outfitted with interactive installation art.  And when I say completely outfitted, I mean there was no section of this building that someone didn’t think about and make look interesting.  It was totally insane!  There were caves, and slides, and a huge whale, and an aquarium, and tunnels, and wood, and stone, and brick, and iron, and re-bar, and tree trunks, and printing plates, and a mini shoelace factory, and a bus on the roof, and a huge bonfire for making smores, and spiral staircases everywhere, and a beatnik café, and, and, and…  ugh, I’m out of breath.  (I yell everything that I’m typing as I type it.  Just a weird character trait.  Really.  Ask anyone)…  Anyhow, I had so many photos I thought it would just be a lot easier to upload them to the Easyshare site, so click on the image below to view them.

Yea, totally sweet, right?  I know.  Anyhow, I headed out from there to make the last 850 miles in one run (with two 2 hour naps).  I stopped in Kansas City for some of Famous Dave’s BBQ, which was totally awesome.  I chatted with some cowboys who “knew I musta been from back east.”  Maybe it was my driving cap, maybe my unabashed enjoyment of the beef ribs.  Well, anyway, here are some extra pics from the last part of the drive.

Kansas City BBQ joint.

With this shot I'm trying to display how full my car was, but it's more embarassing than informative.

This one may be more informative, although it's obviously staged. It would be amazing if I could actually have fallen back asleep within the 10-second interval allowed by the shutter timer on my camera.

Well, I wish I was feeling creative and had something clever and poignant to say to sum up my trip and all the things I’ve seen and done, but I’m just not right now.  But ya know what?  That’s ok, because I have the good intention of continuing the updates to my site so that people can know what I’m up to out here, and my motivation to follow through on that intention will only be reinforced by this meager, shallow closing statement.  So take that!

The End (though, not really, I swear)
